You can issue a credit note or coupon without claiming a general ledger.

Billing staff. Reseller grant.
Menu
Settings → Tax settings; invoice/order coupon fields; Manage → Credit notes
  • Tax: Settings → Tax settings.
  • Coupons: offered on order/catalogue flows that expose coupon fields.
  • Credit notes: Manage → Credit notes.
  • These adjust customer balances. They are not bank reconciliation.
